Teacher Training

Our classes to teach teachers are in full swing. One of the goals of the Mission Point Resource Center is to help teachers of children become more effective in their children's classes during Sunday.

Children are the church of the future. Teaching children the word of God instills Christian knowledge and values in the parents of the next generation. So teaching those children the Bible and God's word is a large focus of the Mission Point Resource Center. In order to teach the ever increasing number of children drawn to the church services on Sunday morning, teachers must be trained in understanding those children and the best methods for teaching them the Bible.

Jorge Vargas is the instructor for the teacher training classes. Nine Foot Goliath For 3 hours each, on 3 separate Saturdays, he is sharing unique ways of capturing the children's attention and helping them remember the Bible truths they learn by using puppets and other visual reinforcements; such as a 9' tall Goliath that is available for loan to congregations. Our first class was well attended with 17 people in the class. The second and third classes will only be open to those who attended the first class.

The MPRC stocks many teaching aids, such as Bible stories for children, large flip books, flannel graph figures, handouts for various Bible lessons, the giant Goliath mentioned above, and even pencils and crayons. The MPRC is in need of additional materials to share with teachers and churches. Wish list items include more large flip books in Spanish, a wider variety of Bible stories translated in to Spanish, and simple coloring sheets that are not limited from copying by copyright restrictions.

We also have links available for information from the internet. If you have found links in Spanish that you think would be helpful to our "student" teachers, please notify us of them.
